Meet Dr. Marguerite Germain

4Founder of South Carolina’s First CoolSculpting® Facility

Between her undergraduate studies and medical school training, Dr. Germain lived in Italy for a year, soaking up artistic inspiration from the people, art, and architecture in the country. As a painter herself, she believes that dermatology is a true visual art.

After her time abroad, Dr. Germain attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine upon receiving a Navy Medical Scholarship. While completing her post-residency tour, the Navy sent Dr. Germain to San Diego, California, for surgical training. Dr. Germain was subsequently assigned to the Dallas, Texas, Naval Air Base to care medically and surgically for pilots and their families. The Navy then chose her to fill one of only four coveted dermatology billets.

After three years of dermatology training, Dr. Germain selected the Charleston Naval Hospital as her duty station, where she also performed hundreds of liposuction procedures. After three more years of outstanding performance there, she decided to separate from the Navy and enter private practice.

Meet Dr. Germain

When CoolSculpting® first received FDA clearance, Dr. Germain was thrilled that there was finally a tested, non-invasive alternative to liposuction that could safely address localized fat without discomfort or downtime, and knew that her patients would appreciate having access to such treatment.

In 2010, Germain Dermatology became the first to introduce CoolSculpting® in South Carolina. With its consistently high rates of success and patient satisfaction under Dr. Germain’s supervision, CoolSculpting® manufacturer Zeltiq has ranked the practice #1 in the state.

As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Germain provides exceptional service in both clinical and cosmetic dermatology for patients from all over South Carolina. While her warm and caring demeanor wins over the hearts of everyone she meets, it’s her independent and innovative mindset, skilled precision, and technologically savvy vision that ultimately makes her team the best at what they do.
